Samantha & Kyle

Monday evening I photographed Samantha & her boyfriend Kyle in Brownsville. Their prom was last weekend, and Mr. Formal was nice enough to let them keep the tux an extra day for our shoot. These two are possibly the cutest young couple in existence :)

Oh Dear Lord..... Kacy..... What you can do with a camera!!!!!

Ummm... I'm too chicken to ask you to your face.... but.... uhhhh.....could .... ummmm.... we ...ahhhhh... work out a deal.... to .... (clear throat) take a stab and creating a miracle...

That is.... Oh crap.. I'll just throw it out there....

Are ya up to creating a never before done amazing ...ummmm..... PROFESSIONAL (by the BEST!) family photo? (NEVER had one before) Beings we just had our 30th anniversary..... I reckon it's time? You'll have to work overtime on editing tho.... coz mafia man will insist on ya shaving off 30 lbs... and yours truly will want the Chinese pug dog look smoothed out of her face.... AND then there is the issue - with trying to get the 'banchees to look at the camera without stupid looks at the same time.

On second thought.....never mind! Friends are hard to come by.... beings cha'yawl are our only ones... What the heck was I thinking?

Seriously Kacy Lou, you did an amazing job with Kyle and Sam....

We are sooo proud to say --- we knew you when....

We'll get there fast and then we'll take it slow...

(Picture snagged from National Geographic's website)

I'm going to Jamaica in June! And I hate to disagree with the Beach Boys, but it doesn't seem that I'll be getting there 'fast' - Something around 13 hours of flights and layovers til my final destination, yikes! I'm glad I sleep easily on planes...

I'll be there to shoot a wedding with my Florida-based friends Tim Co. and Suzy Min, and my friend Josh Smith - an awesome videographer from Louisiana with an equally awesome accent (I love to listen to him talk, even though I think it weirds him out, haha!) will be there as well.

I just had to get a rush-passport (ouch) last week if that tells you how often I leave the country... Only been to Mexico and Canada, and neither of those in at least fifteen years - I'm excited!

Mr. Eagle

Last nite immediately after Marie & Dan's wedding I headed to Harrisburg High School's annual Mr. Eagle pageant which raises money for Children's Miracle Network. A few shots from that...

Dan and Anthony during the group's opening dance routine:

For the 'talent show' portion of the nite, Cameron sang a hilarious rock and roll version of "I Believe I Can Fly" with help from a live band:

All of the guys performing their group dance routine one last time - The guy in the crown would be the winner, Anthony. Congrats! :)

This year Mr. Eagle raised nearly $11,000 for CMN, thanks to the group of Harrisburg High School students that participated - the contestants, their coordinators, and head coordinator Katie. They've all been working hard for most of the school year for a great cause - these last two months before graduation should be easy after all of that! :)

Marie & Dan

Yesterday I photographed Marie & Dan's wedding in Junction City. It was raining off and on all day so the ground was just a bit wet, but luckily Marie's heels only sunk down once! :)

I've been to quite a few weddings, but the story Dan told during his toast about his late grandpa brought on more tears than any other toast I've heard! It was a beautiful story, and I'm sure I can't do it justice by attempting to retell it so I'm not even going to try. Below is Dan with his grandma right after the toast:

Marie & Dan surprised the crowd with a choreographed tango for their first dance - all brides & grooms should be required to do this, it was pretty entertaining and the guests loved it:

Congratulations and have fun in Mexico!! :)
