Tennyson & Latanya - Negril, Jamaica

It seems like it took me forever to get home, but I'm back! I just have to say it's hard getting out of Jamaica and back into the U.S. when you're traveling by yourself, apparently that means you were there for drug purposes - I've never been searched and questioned so much in my life!

The wedding at Tensing Pen was beautiful, and the couple and guests were so much fun - here are a few shots:

Told you I'd be hanging out with the cat again! :)

Thanks again TimCo. for having me!

Jamaica cont'd...

I'm still alive! Tomorrow we shoot the wedding at Tensing Pen. We took a tour of the grounds today and it's amazing, I'm probably going to want to stay there next time I'm out here.

Here we have Suzy & I on a kind of intimidating bridge at Tensing Pen - surprisingly, she's the one in the cowboy hat :)

And I'm really excited because I found a cat there - we both look thrilled in this photo but trust me, we had a moment, and I'm sure we'll be hanging out a bit tomorrow...

A few pictures from the last few days......

The very interesting 7 hour drive from Kingston to Negril with Tim driving on the wrong side of the car, on the wrong side of the road... Very narrow, windy roads. I have never been so grateful for Dramamine, but I took my last one on that drive so I'm hoping I can find more for the way back!!

A few from a random place we stopped at on our drive to stretch our legs:

Orlando-based photographer Mike Buoy and his wife Ann are also here - Ann brought her wedding dress and I hung out and took a few shots while Mike was doing his thing. They are hilarious and Ann is gorgeous!

Tomorrow is going to be a long but fun day - I can't believe we're already nearing the end of our trip, we've been on the go so much since we got here that it's gone by too fast!

Jamaica - I made it!

Well after nearly 20 hours of travel from the time I left Seattle to the time I finally met up with the rest of the group (TimCo, Suzy Roberts and Joshua Smith) in Jamaica... I'm here! I usually sleep like a rock on planes, so I thought that a red-eye flight was a good idea... but apparently I only sleep well on planes when there's no pressure to sleep, so it's been a rough day, probably 3 hours of sleep in the last 36 hours.

We're currently in Kingston staying with some of Tim's family. It's crazy here, I don't even know how to describe it. I'll just say there is a lot of screaming going on inside of our car when we're driving around - they drive on the other side of the road here and apparently there are no rules, everyone just swerves around and passes other cars on blind corners. It's nuts, we've nearly been taken out by a bus or two... (hope my mom doesn't read this until I get home!)

Tomorrow we make the road trip to Negril, where we'll be staying for the rest of the trip. It's supposed to be around a 4 hour drive but we'll be making a lot of scenic stops along the way, so it should be fun... hopefully less screaming in the car once we get out of the city (which apparently has an extremely high murder rate - once again, hope my mom doesn't read this for awhile!)

We're supposed to have internet access from our hotel so I'm sure I'll be posting more... we're all sitting here tired but know we won't sleep well because it's so muggy, so I wouldn't say we're looking forward to going to bed...

Seattle w/ TriCoast

I've been up in Seattle the last few days to shoot a wedding with Texas-based photographers Mike Fulton and Cody Clinton of TriCoast Photography. I met Mike at WPPI in Vegas a few months ago thru my good friend Suzy and he invited me to come hang out. Mike and Cody are both awesome, super cool guys (I don't think the phrase "super cool" does them justice but it'll have to do for now) and I've had a lot of fun spending the last few days with them!

On Friday we wandered around downtown Seattle for awhile, and of course had to pose with one of the many pigs that line the streets down there:

And here's the three of us after the wedding last nite:

They headed back to Texas earlier today :(

I'm staying up here with my cousin Danny until Monday afternoon-ish, then driving back to Portland to catch my red-eye flight to Jamaica!!

Desi

Today I shot Desi's senior photos, she was so much fun to photograph (she doesn't think she's photogenic... umm....?) and I LOVE her eyes. She said she's always wanted brown ones, so we might be arranging for a trade :) There are so many great shots but here are just a few!

I want one! :)

My sister Samantha works at the Chintimini Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Corvallis (where she's also an Oregon State student) and yesterday they released this bobcat that she's been helping take care of. Soooo cute!!

Silver Falls

Yesterday I headed to Silver Falls (outside of Silverton) with the gorgeous Meghan, her hilarious mom Tammy and her fun friend Amanda. We went thru a good chunk of her wardrobe in the park, then hopped a fence (shhh...) for the waterfall shots. I'd never been there before but it was so pretty! Except for the cold water (and yes I was up to my knees in it right along with her) it reminded me of spots I've seen in Hawaii...
