Morgan + Colt: Junction City Wedding

Continuing from the Morgan + Kip post :) ... Morgan and Colt had the cutest wedding out in the country at Colt's parents' house last Saturday

Great-grandma's pearls (the "something old"):

I love this one, Kip just had to be where his parents were at all times :)

Mmm... beef :)

So this is what happens when you try to get Morgan and Colt to pose together for some cute pictures -

I managed to squeeze in a few serious ones though :)

Gotta throw in this one of Morgan playing air guitar :)

Congrats you two!!

Morgan + Kip

On Saturday I photographed Morgan and Colt's wedding outside of Junction City - I'm working on getting a full preview together, but in the meantime I had to post these of Morgan and their dog Kip (the ring bearer).

Kip decided he wanted in on the photo action, and was great about helping Morgan with her train ;)

I don't use camera straps so I tend to do this thing where I rest my camera on my shoulder with the lens pointing up into the air - I had my big 70-200mm on at the time, and Kip got a little excited and started jumping around - He thought we were going hunting! Sorry Kip, maybe next time :)

More to come!

Wow, Kip totally looks like my dog! (I don't use a camera strap either; I prefer the hand strap.)

Marie + Jeff: Portland Wedding

Marie and Jeff, very good friends of mine, decided to get married on the HOTTEST day possible. Actually I shot hotter weddings back in June, but everyone who was outside on Saturday knows it was pretty miserable and humid!

My two favorite shots of the ceremony: Marie wiping the sweat off of Jeff before the big kiss...

Then wiping it off of herself after the kiss.. haha! Just realized I didn't post a photo of the actual kiss, they'll just have to wait to see those ones :)

The nurse and the fireman, awwww:

The girls warming up before the bouquet toss...

This one cracks me up, Jeff dancing in a sea of women... atta boy Jeff! :)

One benefit of shooting weddings for really good friends - after the "important" stuff at the reception is over, all is fair game :)  Erin, myself & Stephanie:

Danny + Karen: Seattle Wedding

Last weekend I made the trek to Seattle (the drive up, normally around 4 1/2 hrs, took about 7... long story) for my cousin Danny's wedding. They had an informal wedding at a park along Lake Washington, and of course it rained so it's probably a good thing there weren't too many high heels around!

Danny's dad performed the ceremony - Have I mentioned that I have two uncles who are pastors? You'd think I would've turned out a little better... :)

Apparently Seattle makes Danny's hair grow very quickly, because I saw him last summer and it was nowhere near these proportions. After many years in the United States Air Force Band in D.C. (which is kind of a big deal), I think he's just enjoying the fact that he doesn't *have* to keep it short :)

And this is about as good as I can get hand-holding a camera late at nite after a few margaritas :)

In other news, on the way home we stopped at the new Cabela's store in Lacey, where I saw these hunter cake toppers:

I don't know which is worse, that I'm posting it here or that I know at least 6 people who this would be perfect for. Oh well!

Anyways, congrats Danny (and Karen)! I guess "Desperado" is no longer your song :)

Katie and Chris tied the knot August 2nd at Whisper-n-Oaks. Their wedding was one of my favorites so far this year, which probably explains why this is my biggest wedding blog post ever. Livia + Chet: Belknap Hot Springs Wedding

Hmm... I'm trying to figure out what to say without getting myself in trouble :) I've known Livia for a loooong time. Between the vacations and holiday dinners that our families have shared, I have plenty of embarrassing stories. One of my favorite involves an ironing board and Disneyland...

Instead I'll just say that this time, the score is Livia 1 - Roomba 0.

Congrats!!

Thanks again to Peter Chee for second shooting, and Holli True for joining us to help out as well.

Kyla + James: Maui Wedding

Kyla and James had started planning a "typical" wedding here in Oregon when I met them last fall, but changed their minds over the winter and decided to do what they really wanted - get married on the beach in Maui! I'm glad they did, and I was glad to be there!

Fourteen of their friends and family made the trek, which made for a really casual but intimate day. They even managed to find a secluded beach only a few minutes from the area we were all staying in - I think there were only about 5 other people there, and they were too far away to make any difference! If you're interested email me, and maybe I'll let you in on where it is... :)

Kyla's younger brother Alaster performed the ceremony :)

The whole group!

Kyla's students got her these "Just Married" flip flops, so we definitely had to take a few with them :)

Thanks Jen! I've had a few people ask if I photoshopped the sky into that kissing picture, but it's straight out of the camera - Thanks to my lovely assistant for the day, my boyfriend Mitchell, for holding the flash at stage right :)

And thanks Jen for pointing out that it's all lighting, because I don't really want people asking me to photoshop skies in for them, haha! :)

Sara + Jeremy: Harrisburg, Oregon Wedding

Sara and Jeremy were wed July 5th at Harrisburg Christian Church in my hometown, Harrisburg, Oregon. Sara and I both grew up in this church so we've known each other for quite awhile - it was fun to be a part of her wedding! And since the wedding was in Harrisburg, I had to take them out to my dad's farm for some field shots :)

Congrats, hope you're enjoying newlywed life back home in Seattle!

Super-Rings!

Okay I won't post any more from James and Kyla's Maui wedding until I get caught up on everything else, but I had to post this one, which doesn't look Maui-ish at all :) Wonder Woman and Superman were their cake toppers, so after the cake cutting I swiped them for this:

And yes mom, I am wearing sunscreen :)

Jamie + Zane: Corvallis Wedding

Jamie and Zane were wed June 28th at the Valley Catering Clubhouse in Corvallis - on a glorious 102 degree day! We didn't realize it was quite that hot until we saw the weather report on Monday, yikes! As you can see, the heat definitely didn't slow down the party:

The rings, on some snapdragons:

Jamie's father officiated the ceremony:

When this group ran past one of them yelled "Use a long exposure and you won't see us!" - haha!

For the reception, Jamie changed into her mother's wedding dress, which she'd had modified:

And I gotta hand it to Jamie - she wore heels all day, then changed into these even higher heels for dancing! The "wear high heels with ease" gene is not one that is passed thru my family :)

Thank you Jamie and Zane for having us!! And once again, thank you Suzy for your mad second-shooting skills :)

Liz + Charlie

Liz and Charlie were married June 21st at Atavista Farm in Brownsville - the weather was perfect, and thank you thank you thank you to Sara of Sara Lil Photography for coming along to shoot with me!

So far Suzy and I are still alive, after some interesting airline problems... Gold star to US Airways for flying Suzy's lost bag to Bend in time for Friday's wedding... it was an interesting 24 hours!

The next wedding is tomorrow in Ariel, Washington. As soon as I post this we're headed up to Portland for the next few days, so if email reply is slow you'll know why!

Melissa + Cory: Eugene Wedding

Continuing in catching up on my blogging... I said it before when I posted their engagement shoot, but Melissa and Cory are extremely adorable. Their Memorial Day weekend wedding was a blast, and it was actually raining for most of the day but every time we headed out for photos it was dry.

Not only are these two adorable, they're also some of the nicest, most genuine people I've met. Their next big step together is joining the Peace Corps. Peter shot this wedding with me, and he even told me he was jealous that I had them as clients :)

Apparently this crew is really into physical fitness... these next two photos were must-haves, haha!

Thanks again Melissa and Cory for letting us spend the big day with you! And huge thanks to Peter for coming along to shoot with me!

And to whoever owns a black and white cat named Nero and lives somewhere near U of O, I gave your kitty a lift home after this wedding - according to his tag, he was a long way from home :)  And if that's considered cat-napping, then I just made that last part up.

Amy + Paul - Portland Wedding 4/13

I'm finally back to high speed internet! I've been housesitting for my mom for the past week, and she lives out in the country with dial-up... I forgot how slow that was! So I've had to wait to get back to the blog.

Last Sunday Amy and Paul tied the knot in Portland - With all of this crazy weather lately (snow in April...?), it was pretty amazing that the sun was out and it was a pretty warm day!

Tiffany & Josh

Tiffany and Josh were wed September 29th at the Holstein House, just outside of Corvallis. Tiffany and I went to school together in Harrisburg, so it's always fun to go to a wedding where I know some guests! Despite the rain - which started in the middle of their first dance - it was a great day with lots of Wranglers. :) Congrats!!

Huge thanks to my friend Mac Mitchell for coming up from Grants Pass to shoot the wedding with me!
